Who We Are
Woodbridge Search is a specialist legal search and advisory business focused exclusively on the Stockholm market. Our clients are a small number of Stockholm's leading law firms and the lawyers which those firms most want to hire.
A move between firms is rarely straightforward. The facts matter - practice group, deal flow, client base, trajectory - but they are rarely the whole picture. The things that determine whether a move is truly right are harder to find on a page: the culture of a firm, the character of the people within it, the working style of a team. Getting those things right takes time, and it takes trust. Every conversation we have is treated with the discretion that a decision of this weight deserves.
We meet every client and candidate in person. It is the only way to understand the things that matter most - culture, character, and working style - and to make introductions we can stand behind.

Founder
James has spent over a decade building and leading search practices across European markets, working with some of the world's most prestigious firms. He founded Woodbridge Search with a single ambition: to bring those standards to legal search in Stockholm.
He takes a long-term view of every relationship, and his reputation rests on the quality of the introductions he makes - not the volume.
Outside work, James is a committed long-distance runner and mountaineer. He has completed six marathons and two ultra-marathons, and is currently training for his next race while setting his sights on a summit above 6,000 metres.

We work on an exclusive basis with a small number of Stockholm's leading firms. Exclusivity is what allows us to represent you properly - protecting confidentiality and committing the market knowledge and time that a serious search demands.
Every mandate begins with a meeting. We take the time to understand the firm, the practice, and the people - before approaching anyone on your behalf. Introductions are made with discretion, and you will hear our honest assessment at every stage, including when we think a move is not the right one.
For Lawyers
A conversation with Woodbridge Search is confidential by default. We will not approach a firm on your behalf without your express permission, and we will never make an introduction without meeting you first.
Most lawyers will make very few moves within their career. We treat each one with the weight it deserves - taking the time to understand your practice, your ambitions, and the things that matter beyond the obvious.
